The Company uses the finest natural ingredients and carefully crafted recipes to offer unique and delicious tastes. Wonderful fish and shellfish come from the cool, clear waters around the Hebridean Island of Mull. So much so that in the 1780’s the British Society for Encouraging Fisheries decided tobuild a port upon a beautiful natural harbour among these seas of abundant fish and shellfish. The name of the port was Tobermory.
The Tobermory Fish Company was founded in 1971 by Hugh and Marjorie Goldie. Hugh and
Marjorie believed in a family business with a family of customers. This tradition is continued
today by their daughter, Rosie and granddaughter Sally. For almost 50 years the Tobermory Fish Company has been producing foods of the very highest quality using traditional smoking
techniques, precise family recipes and a careful curing process to infuse exact mixtures of herbs
and spices. It is this attention to detail that imparts such unique, delicate flavours to the fish and shellfish.
In 2012 they launched a local produce shop in the Smokhouse where you can buy a range of Mull produce including Mull Cheddar, Island Bakery Organics biscuits, Glengorm Meat, Munro’s of Mull Oatcakes, homemade tablet and chutneys. Inverlussa Langoustines and other shellfish you can get seasonally. From April-September they have lobsters, crabs, oysters, mussels and scallops avalible.
