The Lazy Cow is a family business offering light lunches, home-baking, coffees and teas and soft drinks in a pleasant rural setting. The menu features tasty dishes with ingredients for their legendary burgers originating from the many local producers of beef and lamb as well as the café’s own free range pork. Chef Sandra brings an Antipodean influence to the menu due to her New Zealand origins. Locally sourced produce is the basis for delicious lunch dishes from the Spicy Korean Steak Sandwich, the Scallop Salad to the Avocado and Halloumi Open Sandwich and other delights. Everything is prepared and cooked in the open kitchen so be ready to relax island-style and watch the world drift by while your order is made for you. Brodies teas and coffees, a selection of cold drinks and irrestible home-made cakes are all available. Children love that the flock of sheep visit the outdoor seating area and enjoy running around the field in front of the cafe with its small pond and resident ducks. Dogs are welcome at the outside tables while on a lead. Many of their customers come to Mull for the rare wildlife and are blown away by the hen harriers that visit the moor in front of the cafe almost on a daily basis.
The Farm Shop sells Sandra’s own home-made chutneys and pickles as well as sausages and bacon from their own free range pigs in the fridge and freezer. The Farm Shop also stocks produce from Mull and Argyll, including the famous Isle of Mull cheese.
