Salen Bay Campsite

All pitches at Salen Bay Campsite are located on an elevated upper tier, offering a range of options including serviced hardstanding, electric grass, and basic grass pitches – all with panoramic views of the Sound of Mull, Salen Bay, and the surrounding mountains and coastline.

​On the lower tier, our Male, Female, and Accessible Portakabin facilities form a small courtyard, alongside a sheltered double sink washroom and our ‘Bothy’ with seating, charging sockets, coin-operated washer/dryer, and a freezer.

​Located just 800m from the village centre, our site offers peaceful, off-the-beaten-track camping with convenient access to local amenities. Guests can also explore over 100 acres of privately owned open shoreline with marked paths and enjoy direct access to Salen bay—perfect for launching small vessels, swimming, fishing, or hiring kayaks and paddleboards on-site.

Please note that while the shoreline is accessible, it is not part of the campsite, and we do not accept liability for its use.

​Picnic benches are dotted around the grounds to enjoy the scenery and tranquillity. The site is rich in plant life — including sycamore, rowan, alder, and rare orchids — and home to diverse wildlife such as red deer, otters, seals, mountain hares, and a variety of birds, including sea eagles and hen harriers.​​

​Our campsite is also fortunate to welcome regular visits from The Foodie Shack and Island Sauna Shack, offering delicious wood-fired pizzas and a relaxing wood-fired sauna experience.
