Scottish Island Art is run by Aska Marzec, a Tobermory-based artist, originally from Poland. She has lived on the Isle of Mull for 20 years, finding constant inspiration in its environment. Her artistic focus is on the Scottish landscape, specifically the mountains, sea, and light of the Hebrides.
She is known for her vibrant landscape paintings and resin coastal seascapes, creating bright, light-filled scenes available in resin art, prints, and paintings. Her work in available to view in The Picture Gallery at the harbour end of Tobermory High Street. Her partner, Ronnie Leckie also exhibits his beautiful original landscapes and limited edition prints in The Picture Gallery
Aska also runs a series of Mindful Art Weekends throughout the year from her base in Tobermory. These weekends are a small, friendly group of just 3 people allowing the opportunity to explore mindful resin techniques and enjoy painting en plein air.
As part of her “Island Hearts for Art” project, Aska uses her art to support local communities, including raising funds for church buildings on the Isle of Mull.
