Saturday the 22nd of June 2019 sees the first of three StrEAT Food Festivals this year, and it’s not one to be missed. We have a range of fantastic food producers from all over the island coming to cook up a storm at Baliscate, Tobermory.
About Tobermory StrEAT Food Festival
These family-friendly events have taken off these past three years. It all started with collaboration from Tobermory Fish Company and Mull & Iona Food Trail as part of their “Mull Movable Feasts” campaign in 2017. Since then it’s grown into a series of events that tingles the tastebuds of visitors and locals alike. An afternoon of good food, drink, music and kids activities. The events take place from 11 am until 3 pm and a bonus…it’s FREE entry.
The StrEAT Food
Hebridean Lodge returns with some triple cooked chips and mouthwatering toppings. Glengorm’s Meaty BBQ is back with Venison Burgers, and Beef delights. We (Tobermory Fish Co) will be back again with an Isle of Mull Scallop and Black Pudding bap, dressed crabs, Moules, Oysters, Cullen Skink, Smoked Trout and a new dish ‘pint of Prawns’.
STREET FOOD ALERT, we have Charlotte (Mull Tasty Treats) coming along with her brand new Hog Roaster. She will have all the succulent meat pulled and ready to stuff in rolls with various toppings to curb your carvery cravings.
Fancy something sweet?
We have Kyle’s trike making a return with some homemade Isle of Mull Ice Cream. We also want to welcome a new vendor, Little Bespoke Bakery, who is coming with homemade cakes, tray bakes and much more.
Live Music and Other Fun Activites
This year we have Flora, a young local band coming to join us and provide tunes for the day. They will be doing their StrEAT Food Festival debut. We can’t wait to hear them! Also to entertain us we have the Tobermory Guides doing some children’s games and Coisir Og Mhuile coming along to raise funds for their Gaelic group with glitter tattoos, face painting tombola and much more!
If you can’t make it on the 22nd of June, don’t fret! We have another two events taking place this summer:
Any questions, please drop us a message or give us a call on 01688 302120.
We can’t wait to see you all there.
