Located centrally on the island in Glen Aros between Salen & Dervaig there are great walks nearby in the forests and across to Loch Frisa and the rivers Aros, & Bellart. Crannich is a small working farm with highland cattle, sheep and horses where we have regular sightings of white-tailed eagles, buzzards, golden eagles, barn owls and occasionally hen harriers & many other species of birds. For bird watching enthusiasts there is an abundance of wildlife around Glen Aros as it is within the territory of Skye & Frisa the famous pair of white tailed eagles featured on BBC Spring watch & Autumn watch.
Crannich is situated in a secluded position away from the main road up its own track with easy access in a quiet rural setting with panoramic views of the glen and down towards the sound of Mull, with stunning sunrises & sunsets.
The holiday caravans are well spaced from each other and are modern in design. Each one sleeps four people with central heating, wifi, individual gardens, picnic tables & gravelled parking areas.
The island is famous for its variety of wildlife and there are many opportunities to experience this on many of the fantastic trips or just by watching and discovering at your own pace.
Nearby attractions include: Loch Frisa and rivers Aros & Bellart for swimming and fishing with permits & many Forestry trails are within a mile. The village of Dervaig is 15 minute drive for good pub food at the oldest pub on Mull. There is also a shop & the Old Brye Heritage centre. Tobermory is a 20 minute drive where there is an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants, distillery, arts centre, museum, golf course & harbour where many of the sea life boat trips set off from. Calgary is a 25 minute drive with its gorgeous very popular white sandy beach, cafe, gallery and art in nature. At Aros there is a Small pebbly beach approx 2.5 miles away. Salen is a 10 minute drive for shop, post office, café/ bakery, pub/hotel, bike hire, fuel station & gas refills.
