Books have been made on Iona at least as long ago as the 9th Century when the Book of Kells was created, and likely long before that. Now you can try the craft yourself while you’re visiting the island. Join in an afternoon bookbinding taster session. Learn how to make your own book and leave with new skills, a book or two, and hopefully a newfound respect for a traditional craft. No experience necessary, all tools and materials are provided.
This event is on every Wednesday between 13th April and 28th September 2022 except on 18 May, 8 June, 20 July.
