The Tin Shed Gallery displays the ceramics of Charlotte Mellis. Her work is mainly terracotta earthenware, decorated with coloured slips, oxides and underglaze colours under a transparent glaze. In the gallery you will find her domestic ware – thrown cups, mugs, jugs, plates and bowls, all of which go in the dishwasher and the oven, but not in the microwave.
She also makes tiles and hand built constructions based on corrugated buildings showing the ravages of time.
A variety of artists are invited to show their work in the gallery, alongside Charlotte’s Ceramics. The gallery is free entry and most of the work is for sale.
